To improve the voice quality of your calls on the product, you can adjust the preferences and settings related to voice quality. Here's how you can do it:
1. Log onto the Hero portal by visiting https://portal.hero.co.nz.
2. Select the "Voice" tab and navigate to "Phone number" and then "Other Settings" followed by "Voice and Quality".
3. In the Voice and Quality settings, you can set your preferences for voice quality.
4. If you are a sysadmin and have the necessary knowledge, you can also set the codecs for better voice quality. Codecs determine the compression and decompression algorithms used for audio data.
5. Additionally, you can set the DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) settings, which are used for transmitting digits during a call.
6. Once you have made the desired changes, click on "Save settings" to update and apply the changes.
Furthermore, the product supports various codecs that offer different levels of voice quality. The available codecs are:
- G.711 a-law codec (Excellent quality)
- G.711 u-law codec (Excellent quality)
- G.722 wideband codec (The best quality)
- GSM codec (Good quality)
- iLBC codec (Must be 30ms/13.33kbps variant, Good quality)

- H.263 video codec
- H.264 video codec
