To connect the Biamp ALC-404D to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the ALC-404D is properly installed in a well-ventilated rack cabinet, with both front and rear brackets securely attached to the rack.
2. Connect the AC mains connector to a circuit breaker.
3. Use balanced input connections for the best signal quality and to limit hum and interference. Analog audio input connections are made via the Phoenix MC 1,5/6-ST-3,81 5447900 connector on the ALC-404D.
4. If you need to remotely adjust the level of each channel, connect a linear 10 kΩ potentiometer to the input LEVEL connector.
5. Use Ethernet Cat5 straight through patch cables to connect the ALC-404D to a personal computer running Powersoft ArmoníaPlus System Manager software for remote control.
6. For digital audio input connection, use the Dante® port on the ALC-404D and ensure that the cabling complies with TIA/EIA-568-B and adopts the T568B scheme pinout.
7. Connect the outputs to your loudspeakers using the Phoenix PC 5/4-STF1-7,62 177859 port on the ALC-404D. You can configure the output load as either low impedance or high impedance (70V/100V) using the DIP switches on the rear panel.
8. Ensure that the ALC-404D is properly cooled by keeping a distance of at least 19.7 inches (50 cm) from the front and rear ventilation openings. The ALC-404D features a forced-air cooling system with variable-speed DC fans.
