To install the Custom Dynamics Saddlebag LED Dual Color Latch Lightz on your Harley-Davidson motorcycle, please follow the steps outlined in the instruction manual provided with the product. Here is a summary of the installation process:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Locate and unplug the lighting connector to the rear fender.
3. Plug the provided BCM Y Harness Adapter into the rear lighting harness and into the bike's main wiring harness.
4. Open the saddlebag lid and remove any personal items from the saddlebag.
5. Disconnect the check strap from the lid of the saddlebag and remove the hinge cover from the hinge and locking mechanism.
6. Use the provided drilling template to mark and drill a 1/4" hole on the hinge cover.
7. Push the reflector out from the back side of the hinge cover where you drilled the hole.
8. Enlarge the hole to 3/8" and clean any debris and adhesive from the area.
9. Wipe the reflector area with the provided Isopropyl Alcohol Wipe and let it dry.
10. Route the wire from the Latch Lightz through the hole in the hinge cover and align the Latch Lightz in the reflector area. Press it into place.
11. Reinstall the hinge cover on the saddlebag hinge.
12. Install the provided foam strip on the top outside lip of the saddlebag.
13. Route the wire from the Latch Lightz over the foam pad and secure it to the inside of the saddlebag using the provided tie wrap holders and tie wraps.
14. Remove the saddlebags from the motorcycle and mark the desired drill point for the Latch Lightz wire to exit the saddlebag.
15. Drill a hole through the marked drill point on each saddlebag and install the provided rubber grommet into the hole.
16. Route the wire from each Latch Lightz through the rubber grommets and out the backside of the saddlebag.
17. Install the provided JAE connectors onto the pre-pinned wires from each Latch Lightz.
18. Reinstall the saddlebags and plug in the male JAE connectors from each Latch Lightz to the female JAE connectors of the quick disconnect harness.
19. Plug the quick disconnect harness into the BCM Y Harness adapter.
20. Secure the wires under the seat with tie wraps.
21. Reinstall the motorcycle seat and test the operation of all lighting before riding.
