To install the Hunter Perch Point Semi-Flush Mount Ceiling Light, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers associated with the wall switch location.
2. Ensure that the installation site has a ground wire. If not, consult a qualified electrician before proceeding.
3. Familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes ANSI/NFPA 70 to ensure proper wiring.
4. Carefully unpack the contents of the carton.
5. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture, including the old mounting bracket.
6. Take out the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag.
7. Remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws.
8. Place the mounting plate over the junction box, ensuring that the mounting screws and nuts extend away from the ceiling.
9. Adjust the position of the mounting screws so that they can be exposed 5-6 mm after passing through the canopy.
10. If needed, adjust the position of the mounting screws to allow the canopy to be flush with the ceiling.
11. Once the ideal position of the mounting screws is confirmed, tighten the nuts on the front of the mounting plate to secure the screws.
12. Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate.
13. Secure the mounting plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
14. Have a helper support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring.
15. Connect the fixture's wires to the power supply wires from the junction box (black to black, white to white, grounding to grounding).
16. Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and secure with a wire connector.
17. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding xxxx and tighten.
18. Raise the canopy to the mounting plate and position the mounting screws so that they protrude through the openings of the canopy.
19. Secure the canopy in place with the cap nuts.
20. Attach the collar onto the arms with screws.
21. Install a light bulb (not included) according to the fixture's specifications, ensuring not to exceed the recommended wattage.
22. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
23. Your installation is now complete.
