To connect the Phocos CIS-N-MPPT 85/15 MPPT Solar Charge Controller, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the controller is installed on a nonflammable surface.
2. Connect the negative battery terminal (COMMON-) to the negative terminal of your battery using a 4 mm² black wire.
3. Connect the positive battery terminal (BATERY+) to the positive terminal of your battery using a 4 mm² red wire.
4. Connect the negative panel terminal (COMMON-) to the negative terminal of your solar panels using a 4 mm² black wire.
5. Connect the positive panel terminal (SOLAR+) to the positive terminal of your solar panels using a 4 mm² yellow wire.
6. Connect the negative load terminal (COMMON-) to the negative terminal of your load using a 4 mm² black wire.
7. Connect the positive load terminal (LOAD+) to the positive terminal of your load using a 4 mm² orange wire.
8. If you are using the dimming function, connect the dimming signal terminal to the appropriate device using a 0.25 mm² black wire.
9. Ensure that all wire connections are properly done, well insulated, and protected from water or humidity.
10. If grounding is required, connect the grounding post on the left side of the controller to the negative wires.
11. If you are connecting inductive loads (motors, relays, etc.), connect a freewheel diode in parallel to the loads in the reverse-biased direction.
12. Inverters should always be connected directly to the battery due to their high inrush currents.
