To connect the phocos ECO-N-T Solar Charge Controller to your battery and solar panel, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the PV (solar) modules from the charge controller before installing or working on the PV system to prevent any damages to the charge controller.
2. Connect the wires in the following order: PV terminal, battery terminal, and load terminal. This will help avoid installation faults.
3. Make sure to connect the wire to the controller first, then to the battery, panel, or load to avoid any voltage on the wires.
4. Use a minimum wire size of 3.0mm2 (AWG 12) for the ECO-N-10-T model and 6.0mm2 (AWG 10) for the ECO-N-20-T model. Use minimum 75°C stranded copper wire.
5. Ensure that the wire length between the battery and controller is as short as possible.
6. If any grounding is required, always do this on the negative wires. The ECO-N-T is designed for use in negative ground systems.
7. The photovoltaic maximum current should not exceed the rated charge current of the controller. The photovoltaic maximum voltage cannot exceed 30VDC (12V system) and 50VDC (24V system).
Please refer to the phocos ECO-N-T Solar Charge Controller User Manual for more detailed instructions and diagrams on how to connect the controller to your battery and solar panel.
