To connect the phocos D2020N Dingo Advanced Solar Charge Controller to your battery and solar panels, follow these steps:
1. Install the controller in a vertical position where there is air circulation, in a dry environment away from direct sunlight, flammable gases or liquids, and insects.
2. Connect the battery first. xxxx the positive wire to the Battery+ terminal and the negative wire to the Battery- terminal. If the display comes on, the connection is correct.
3. Connect the negative wire from the solar panel(s) to the solar panel negative (-) terminal. Be cautious as reverse connection of the solar array can damage the controller. Test the polarity by touching the positive wire from the solar panel onto the Test terminal (T). If the alarm LED does not flash, the polarity is correct. If it flashes quickly, the polarity is wrong. Check the polarity and test again. If correct, connect the positive wire from the solar panel to the Solar positive (+) terminal.
4. Connect the negative wire from the DC load circuit to the load negative (-) terminal and connect the positive wire from the load to the load positive (+) terminal. Test that the load circuit works. Note that the controller is protected against load short circuits but cannot protect your load devices if you reverse the connection to them.
5. Set the system voltage by navigating the menu system using the button on the front of the controller. Refer to the user guide for detailed instructions on using the menu system and setting the system voltage.
Please refer to the phocos D2020N Dingo Advanced Solar Charge Controller User Guide for more detailed instructions and information on setting up and using the controller.
