To measure short circuit loop parameters with the Sonel MPI-502 meter, follow these steps:
1. Connect the meter to the electrical installation you want to measure.
2. Set the rotary switch to the "Fault loop impedance" function.
3. Select the appropriate measurement range for the rated voltage of the network (220/380 V, 230/400 V, 240/415 V).
4. Press the "Measure" button to start the measurement.
5. The meter will display the short circuit loop resistance (R) and reactance (X) values.
Note: The meter can also measure short circuit loop impedance with a 15 mA current without tripping the RCD circuit breaker. The maximum test current is 7.6 A (at 230 V) or 13.3 A (at 400 V).
