To connect the PARADOX DB7 Doorbell to an existing site, follow these steps:
1. Doorbell Configurations: Ensure that the doorbell wires are not connected in series and that the BELL wire is shorted. This means that the BELL wire should be connected to the same terminal as the TRANS or COM wire.
2. Power for Doorbell: Connect the two power wires to the DB7. You can use the existing doorbell wires, but make sure the BELL wire is shorted as mentioned above. The DB7 supports a wide power supply voltage range of 12-24 volts AC or DC, with a minimum requirement of 500mA and 7.5W.
3. Connect Chime to Doorbell: After connecting the DB7, plug the DBC5 chime into an AC outlet. Use the Up and Down arrow buttons on the chime to change the melody to your preference. Then, press and hold the Select button for five seconds until you hear a beep. Press the Ring button on the doorbell, and you should hear a beep from the chime, indicating successful connection. The selected melody will be played when the doorbell is pressed next time.
