1. Start by removing the lateral covering of the dashboard using a trim tool. This will give you access to the fuse box and other components.
2. Loosen the covering of the fuse box, which is only plugged in, and move it off easily.
3. Remove the lateral covering at the c-pillar and fold the back seat up for better access.
4. Remove the plastic clip of the sill trim and loosen the rear sill trim with a trim tool. Then, remove the front sill trim completely.
5. Remove the locking clip of the hood release and move the lever for the hood release off afterwards.
6. Loosen the plastic clip of the lower trim panel of the a-pillar and remove the lower trim panel with a trim tool.
7. Fold the carpet sidewards and uncover the original cable harness. Search in the cable harness for the orange/black and orange/brown twisted wires, and connect the CAN High (black/white) wire to the orange/black wire and the CAN Low (black/yellow) wire to the orange/brown wire. If your cable set consists exclusively of grey wires, connect the wires according to the inscription at the end of the wires.
8. Loosen the two marked screws of the fuse box and turn it sideways. Connect the cable for the ignition lead (red/white) to the fuse spot F25 and protect the spot with a 7.5 ampere fuse afterwards. If this spot is already occupied, measure with a multimeter to find an alternative fuse spot that carries ignition lead and connect it there.
9. Drill a hole for the pushbutton at the marked position and attach the pushbutton afterwards.
10. Route the connecting cable for ground (brown), module, and the control unit up to the lateral covering of the dashboard. Connect the ground cable to the marked ground spot.
11. Place the control unit and the module at the marked position and fix both at the beam with suitable workshop material.
12. Remove the rear wheel on the passenger's side and loosen the two marked screws of the impact protection. Loosen the marked xxxx of the interior trim of the wheel housing.
13. Install the sound generator with the just loosened screws and connect the connecting cable to the sound generator.
Please note that this is a general guide and it is always recommended to refer to the specific instructions provided in the KUFATEC Complete kit Active Sound incl. Sound Booster for your VW Polo 6R, 6.
