To change the hydraulic oil in the scheppach HL1800GM Log Splitter, follow these steps:
1. Position the log splitter on a slightly raised surface, such as a euro pallet, to allow for easy access to the drain plug.
2. Place a sufficiently large container (at least 18 liters) under the drain plug on the splitting column to catch the oil.
3. Open the drain plug and carefully let the oil drain into the container. You can also open the filling xxxx on the top of the splitting column to allow the oil to drain more easily.
4. Replace the drain plug and its seal, and tighten it securely.
5. Pour in fresh hydraulic oil into the hydraulic tank. The oil tank has been filled by the factory with premium quality hydraulic oil. The oil quantity required can be found in the technical data section of the instruction manual.
6. Check the oil level with the dipstick located on the filling xxxx . The oil level should be between the minimum and maximum marks on the dipstick.
7. After changing the oil, operate the log splitter a few times without actually splitting any wood to ensure proper circulation of the new oil.
Note: It is important to always loosen the filling xxxx before starting work and never forget to do so. Failure to do this can result in damage to the hydraulic circuit and void the warranty.
Please refer to the instruction manual for more detailed information and safety precautions when performing maintenance tasks on the scheppach HL1800GM Log Splitter.
