According to the instruction manual, for hygienic reasons, the device should be cleaned every 14 days. If the device will not be used for more than 3 days, the water in the water tank should be replaced. To clean the device, remove the motor part from the water tank and clean it with a damp cloth. Then, remove the water tray with the humid disc pack and clean the disc pack with warm soapy water. Depending on the water hardness, limescale may need to be removed from the tray and the disc pack using water added with vinegar or descaler. It is important to not use aggressive detergents.
