To install the elk HOME 89620-1 Pendant Light, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect power at the main fuse box before installation.
2. Carefully pull the house wires out of the junction box so they are easily accessible during installation.
3. Position the mounting bracket (A) with the threaded ends of the attached fixture mounting screws (E) facing down towards the floor.
4. Pull the house wires through one of the two large holes in the mounting bracket (A) and align the holes in the bracket with the holes in the junction box.
5. Thread each junction box xxxx (B) into the holes in the mounting bracket (A) and into the holes in the junction box. Tighten the screws to secure the mounting bracket to the junction box.
6. Carefully push the fixture wires up through the bottom of the 6-inch stem (N) and pull them out of the top. xxxx the bottom of the 6-inch stem onto the top of the fixture body (O).
7. Determine the desired hanging height of the fixture and select the number of stems (M) to achieve that height.
8. Push the fixture wires up through the end of one 12-inch stem (M) and thread the end of the stem onto the top of the 6-inch stem (N).
9. Push the fixture wires through the remaining stems (M) and xxxx the stems together, keeping the wires taut. Do not pinch the wires between the stems.
10. Push the fixture wires up through the end of the swivel (S) on the canopy (D) and xxxx the top of the last stem onto the end of the swivel.
11. Strip 3/4 of insulation from the ends of the fixture wires.
12. Slightly loosen the ground xxxx on the mounting bracket (A) and wrap the house ground wire (copper) around it. Twist the end of the fixture ground wire and the house ground wire together and secure them with a wire nut (C).
13. Twist the end of the house lead wire (black) and the fixture lead wire together and secure them with a wire nut (C). Repeat this step for the house neutral wire (white) and the fixture neutral wire.
14. Wrap electrical tape around the wire nuts and wires to ensure they are securely fastened.
15. Carefully push all wires and wire nuts into the junction box.
16. Connect the black lead supply (house) wire to the black wire or parallel cord, and connect the white neutral supply (house) wire to the white wire or parallel cord.
17. Carefully raise the fixture up to the ceiling and place the canopy (D) over the mounting bracket (A). Pass the holes in the canopy over the ends of the fixture mounting screws (E).
18. xxxx one threaded cap (F) onto the end of each fixture mounting xxxx (E) to secure the fixture to the ceiling. Do not over-tighten.
19. Raise the shade (K) up to the fixture and pass the hole in the top of the shade over the socket. Thread the socket ring (L) onto the socket to secure the shade in place.
20. Finally, xxxx the recommended bulb (E26 Edison bulb type, not included) into the socket, making sure not to exceed the maximum wattage specified on the socket.
