To connect the CT-M500 to your transceiver, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your transceiver has a Wireless LAN (WLAN) capability. Refer to your transceiver's manual for details on WLAN settings and compatibility.
2. Download the transceiver's manual from the Icom website at https://www.icomjapan.com/support/ if you don't have a physical copy.
3. Make sure the CT-M500 is powered off and not connected to any power source.
4. Connect the CT-M500 to a 13.8 V DC power source using the supplied DC power connector. The red wire should be connected to the positive terminal (+) and the black wire to the negative terminal (-).
5. If you are using an external horn speaker, connect it to the AF OUT LEADS on the rear panel of the CT-M500. The blue wire is for the positive (+) connection, and the gray wire is for the negative (-) connection. If you're not using a horn speaker, leave the black and orange wires disconnected.
6. Mount the CT-M500 using the supplied universal mounting bracket. Ensure that it is securely attached to a surface that can support its weight.
7. Turn on the CT-M500 by pressing and holding the POWER KEY for 1 second. The device will automatically connect to the transceiver if the WLAN setting is already configured. If not, the device will enter WLAN Setup mode and wait for the transceiver to set the WLAN setting.
Note: For more detailed instructions and precautions, refer to the CT-M500 manual.
