To install the FebSmart FS-2C-U4-Pro or FS-4C-U8S-Pro USB 3.0 expansion card on your desktop PC, follow these steps:
Step 1: Switch off your PC and unplug it from the main socket. Also, unplug the power cord and any other connected peripherals. Remove the cover from the computer case.
Step 2: Locate the correct PCI Express slot on your motherboard and insert the USB 3.0 card into an empty PCI-E slot. If you are using a slim PC, you will need to use the low profile bracket included in the package.
Step 3: Reattach the computer cover and reconnect the removed peripherals. Power on your desktop computer.
After installing the USB card, you can check if it was detected by your PC by plugging in universal USB devices such as flash drives, keyboards, or mice. If your system recognizes these devices, it means no driver installation is required, and you can start using the added-on USB 3.0 ports immediately.
If your system does not recognize the USB devices, you may need to install the driver. The installation steps for the driver are provided in the instruction manual, which can be found on the included Mini CD or downloaded from the FebSmart website (www.febsmart.com). The manual provides detailed instructions for driver installation on various Windows and Linux systems.
If you encounter any issues during installation or have further questions, you can contact FebSmart's technical support at support@febsmart.com. They will be able to assist you with troubleshooting and provide additional help if needed.
