To properly fill the frypot with oil in the FRYMASTER FPEL214CA FPEL Series Electric Fryer, follow these steps:
1. Fill the frypot with oil to the bottom OIL LEVEL line located on the rear of the frypot. This allows for oil expansion as heat is applied. Do not fill cold oil any higher than the bottom line to prevent overflow as the oil expands.
2. If using solid shortening, raise the elements and pack the shortening into the bottom of the frypot. Lower the elements and pack shortening around, in, and over the elements to the lower etched line on the frypot. Add more shortening if necessary, after the packed shortening has melted, to reach the top etched line in the frypot.
3. Ensure that the power cord(s) is/are plugged into the appropriate receptacle(s). Verify that the face of the plug is flush with the outlet plate, with no portion of the prongs visible.
4. Switch on the power. Some models have a master switch located behind the fryer door cabinet on the front panel of the component box, next to the fuse.
5. Switch on the computer/controller. Refer to the controller quick reference for instructions.
6. Check that the oil level is at the top OIL LEVEL line when the oil reaches its cooking temperature. If needed, add oil or shortening to bring the level up to the proper mark after it has reached cooking temperature.
Please refer to the FRYMASTER FPEL214CA FPEL Series Electric Fryer Instruction Manual for more detailed information and safety precautions.
