To install the MAXX AIR IF36 Industrial Exhaust Fan, follow these steps:
1. Choose a suitable location along the wall away from prevailing winds. If you are installing multiple units, space them evenly throughout the building for balanced airflow.
2. Remove any insulation or nonstructural material from the chosen location.
3. Determine the required rough opening (RO) dimension based on the chart provided in the manual. Remove wall studs as needed to accommodate the RO.
4. After removing the studs, cut an appropriate-sized RO in the outer wall. The RO should be centered between the remaining studs and positioned at least 8 feet above the floor level, if possible.
5. Using conventional framing methods in accordance with local building requirements and codes, build a frame around the RO to support the unit and maintain the structural integrity of the wall.
6. Optionally, cover the inside opening with plywood sheathing cut to the appropriate dimensions. Cut a circular hole in the plywood sheathing to accept the shroud of the unit being installed.
7. Use shims as needed to center the unit in the cutout. Once satisfied with the unit's position, attach it to the outer wall framing using screws.
8. Optionally, seal any air gaps between the installed unit and the inside or outside RO using additional framing, flashing, or weather stripping. Note that air gaps will not hinder the unit's performance.
9. Refer to the wiring diagrams provided in the manual to wire the unit to an appropriate power supply. There are two wiring diagrams: one without a thermostat and one with a thermostat.
Please note that these instructions are a summary. For more detailed information and diagrams, refer to the MAXX AIR IF36 Industrial Exhaust Fans Instruction Manual.
