To cut the American Pro Decor 5APD11844 Round Flat Crimp Decorative Antique Brass Woven Wire Grille Panel to the desired size, please follow these instructions:
1. Create a template: Start by making a template of the desired grille size using heavy paper or cardboard. Measure the routed opening where the grille will be placed and deduct 1/8" from each dimension for clearance. For example, if the outer edges of the routed opening measure 14" x 28", the template should measure 13 7/8" x 27-7/8".
2. Position the grille: Place the template on a flat surface large enough to hold the grille material. Lay the grille over the template and ensure that the design is centered from top to bottom and from side to side. Make sure that the wires "run into" each corner.
3. Mark the wires: Use a permanent ink marker or lumber crayon to mark the grill wires corresponding to your template. If you are cutting multiple grilles of the same size, you can outline one "diamond" on the template near each of the four corners using a marker. This will help in positioning the remaining material on the template.
4. Cut the grille: Carefully cut the grille along the marked lines using wire or bolt cutters. Take your time to ensure accurate cuts. If there are any loose corner wires after cutting, you can secure them once the grille is mounted into the routed opening.
