To program your own drum patterns on the Boss DR-550 Digital Drum Machine, follow these steps:
1. Press the PATTERN button to enter Pattern Mode.
2. Use the VALUE dial to select an empty pattern slot (1-64) where you want to create your custom drum pattern.
3. Press the REC button to enter Record Mode.
4. Use the DRUM SELECT buttons to choose the drum sound you want to program (e.g., kick, snare, hi-hat).
5. Use the VALUE dial to select the step where you want to place the drum sound.
6. Press the desired step button to activate it (the LED will light up).
7. Repeat steps 4-6 to program additional drum sounds on different steps.
8. Use the VALUE dial to adjust the level, pitch, and decay of each drum sound as desired.
9. Press the START/STOP button to start playback and hear your custom drum pattern.
