Here are the steps for installing the HAVIT HV1409T Adjustable Garden Spike Light:
1. Make sure that the electrical circuit is free of voltage by turning off the master switch.
2. Choose the desired location for the light fitting.
3. Connect the cable: Strip back the cable on both the fitting and the cable run. Twist the positive cable from the fitting to the positive on the cable run, and connect the neutral from the fitting to the neutral on the cable run.
4. Use an appropriate 12v DC LED Driver. Do not connect the light fitting directly to 240V.
5. Solder all joins using solder with either a heat gun or butane gas torch.
6. Cover the connections using an adhesive-lined heat shrink or gel cap to make the connection watertight. Failure to do this step will void the warranty.
7. Heat the heat shrink or crimp the gel cap, making sure all connections are covered.
8. The color temperature is preset to 3000k. To change it, remove the cover from the fitting by twisting it counterclockwise. Remove the glass and set it aside. Remove the globe from the fitting and move the switch on the side of the globe to the desired color temperature.
9. Reinsert the globe by aligning the pins of the globe with the holes of the lampholder and pushing down gently.
10. Reinsert the glass and reattach the cover by turning it clockwise, making sure the seals are still in place and the caps are tight to avoid water penetration.
11. Adjust the fitting to the desired position, making sure to stop rotating when the fitting cannot rotate anymore. Forcing the fitting to rotate further may cause internal cables to become entangled and result in a short circuit. Doing so will void the warranty.
12. Carefully carry out all connections and inspect all contacts before switching the electric circuit back on.
