To adjust the recording settings on the Sony ICD-SX57 Digital Voice Recorder, follow these steps:
1. Press the MENU button on the recorder to enter the menu mode.
2. Use the navigation buttons (up, down, left, right) to select "REC SET" and press the ENTER button.
3. In the "REC SET" menu, you can choose the following options:
- REC FORMAT: Select the desired recording format (MP3 or Linear PCM).
- REC MODE: Choose the recording quality (High, Standard, or Long Play) for MP3 format. For Linear PCM format, the quality is fixed at CD quality.

4. Use the navigation buttons to select the desired option and press the ENTER button to confirm your selection.
5. Press the MENU button to exit the menu mode.
