To connect the SmartGen AIN24-2 Analog Input Module to the master controller, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the power supply voltage is within the range of DC(8~35)V and connect the negative input (B-) and positive input (B+) cables to the corresponding terminals (1 and 2) on the module.
2. If you require a matched resistance, short connect Terminal 4 (TR) and Terminal 5.
3. Connect the RS485 communication wires to the module. The RS485 A(+) wire should be connected to Terminal 5 (RS485 A(+)), and the RS485 B(-) wire should be connected to Terminal 6 (RS485 B(-)). It is recommended to use a 120Ω shielding wire with one end grounded.
4. For 4-20mA current sensors, connect the COM terminal (B+) to Terminal 7 (COM (B+)). The individual sensor terminals (AIN24, AIN23, AIN22, AIN21, AIN20) should be connected to Terminals 8-12, respectively.
5. For resistance sensors, connect the COM terminal (B+) to Terminal 13 (SENSOR COM). The individual sensor terminals (AUX.SENSOR 19, AUX.SENSOR 18, AUX.SENSOR 17, AUX.SENSOR 16, AUX.SENSOR 15) should be connected to Terminals 14-18, respectively.
6. For K-type thermocouple sensors, connect the positive and negative terminals of each sensor to the corresponding terminals on the module. The positive terminals (KIN14+, KIN13+, KIN12+, KIN2+, KIN3+, KIN4+, KIN5+, KIN6+, KIN7+, KIN8+, KIN9+, KIN10+, KIN11+) should be connected to Terminals 19-31, and the negative terminals (KIN14-, KIN13-, KIN12-, KIN1-, KIN2-, KIN3-, KIN4-, KIN5-, KIN6-, KIN7-, KIN8-, KIN9-, KIN10-, KIN11-) should be connected to Terminals 20-32, respectively.
Please refer to Table 4 - Terminal Connection in the user manual for more detailed information on the wire connections.
Note: Make sure to set the module address and RS485 communication baud rate correctly using the switch settings on the module according to your requirements.
