To set up the BIGtec WiFi Range Extender, please follow these step-by-step instructions:
1. Placement: Choose a location for the range extender that is within the range of your existing WiFi router but closer to the areas where you need improved WiFi coverage. Avoid placing it near obstacles like walls or large objects that may interfere with the signal.
2. Power on: Connect the range extender to a power source and turn it on. Wait for the device to fully boot up and be ready for configuration.
3. Connect to the range extender: On your computer or mobile device, go to the list of available WiFi networks and look for the network name (SSID) of the WiFi range extender. It may have a different name or include the brand name. Connect to this network.
4. Access the setup page: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address of the WiFi range extender in the address bar. You can find the IP address in the product's instruction manual or on the device itself. Press Enter to reach the setup page.
5. Sign in and configure: Provide the username and password when prompted to access the settings page. Refer to the user manual for the default login credentials. Once logged in, follow the on-screen instructions to set up the range extender.
6. Choose the WiFi network: During the setup process, you will be prompted to select the WiFi network you want to extend the coverage of. Choose your existing WiFi network from the list and enter the password if required.
7. Configure settings: Depending on the model of the range extender, there may be additional settings to adjust, such as the network name (SSID), security settings, or WiFi channel selection. You can keep the settings as they are or customize them according to your needs.
8. Apply adjustments and restart: After making the desired changes to the settings, apply the adjustments and wait for the range extender to restart.
9. Connect devices: Once the range extender has restarted, reconnect your devices (laptops, smartphones, tablets) to the expanded WiFi network. Look for the network name you set up during the configuration process (identified by the SSID) and enter the password if required.
10. Test the expanded network: Move to the areas where you previously experienced weak WiFi signals and check if the connection has improved. You should now have a stronger and more reliable WiFi connection in those locations.
