To start recording on the Olympus DS-3400 Digital Voice Recorder, follow these steps:
1. Power on the recorder by pressing and holding the Power/Menu button until the device turns on.
2. Make sure the recorder is in the Standby mode. The Standby mode is indicated by a clock icon on the LCD screen.
3. Adjust the microphone sensitivity if needed. Use the Mic Sensitivity button to toggle between Low, Medium, and High sensitivity levels.
4. Position the recorder close to the sound source for optimal audio capture.
5. Press the REC button once to start recording. The REC button is located on the front of the device.
6. The LCD screen will display a recording indicator, showing that the device is actively recording.
7. To pause the recording, press the REC button again. The recording will be paused, and the LCD screen will display a pause indicator.
8. To resume the recording, press the REC button once more.
9. To stop the recording, press and hold the Stop button until the device stops recording. The Stop button is located on the front of the device and is marked with a square icon.
