To connect the Megatel MC-FXS-4-SC20B 4CH POTS Over Fiber Converter to your telephone sets or fax machines, follow these steps:
1. Connect the FXS unit (receiver) of the converter to your telephone sets or fax machines using RJ-11 jacks. Each telephone set or fax machine should be connected to one of the four phone connectors on the FXS unit.
2. Connect the FXO unit (transmitter) of the converter to your PBX analog phone lines. This can be done by connecting the FXO unit to the PBX using an RJ-11 jack.
3. Power on the converter by connecting the AC90-260V to DC5V 2A power adapter to the converter. Make sure the power adapter is plugged into a power source.
4. Once the converter is powered on, the power LED indicator should be always on, indicating that the power is working normally.
5. Check the fiber optic link by looking at the fiber LED indicator. If the LED is off, it means that the fiber doesn't pass. If the LED is on, it means that the fiber link is OK.
6. Connect the converter to your network using the Ethernet port. Use an Ethernet cable to connect the RJ45 connector on the converter to your network device or switch.
7. Check the data transmission by looking at the Ethernet LED indicator. If the LED is amber on, it means that the Ethernet is connected. If the LED is green on, it means that data transmission is occurring.
Once you have completed these steps, the Megatel MC-FXS-4-SC20B 4CH POTS Over Fiber Converter should be successfully connected to your telephone sets or fax machines, allowing for analog and PSTN telephone transmission over fiber optic cables.
