To install the WILO Star-Z 25-2 Circulation Pump for Drinking Water, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the pump has been disconnected from the power supply before starting the installation.
2. Choose a suitable installation site that is weatherproof, frost-free, dust-free, and well-ventilated. It should also be easily accessible.
3. Flush the pipe system before installation to remove any dirt that could cause pump failure.
4. If you have the Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, or Star-Z 15 A Press versions, the stop valve and non-return valve are pre-installed. If you have the Star-Z 15 version, you will need to install these valves.
5. Prepare the installation site to avoid exposing the pump to mechanical stresses.
6. Check the arrow on the back of the housing to determine the direction of flow. Ensure that the motor head is positioned correctly to prevent water from penetrating and damaging the pump.
7. Open the stop valve by turning the slot with a screwdriver so that it is parallel to the direction of flow (only for Star-Z 15 C, Star-Z 15 A, and Star-Z 15 A Press versions). To close the valve, turn the slot so that it is across the direction of flow.
8. Fit the thermal insulation shell.
9. Connect the pipework, ensuring that the tightening torque is not too high to avoid damaging the valve xxxx connection and O-ring.
10. For electrical connections, only a qualified electrician should work on the electrical connection. Install a permanent connecting cable with a plug device or all-pole switch. Guide the connecting cable through the cable connection, strip approximately 5 mm, secure the cores with cable clips (L phase, N neutral, earth), and tighten the cable connection firmly.
11. Fill the system with water.
12. The pump rotor space vents automatically after a short time in operation. The pump will not be damaged if it runs dry briefly.
