To program the location on the First Alert SCO7 Voice and Location Smoke Detector, follow these steps:
1. Insert two AA batteries into the smoke detector. The voice will say "Welcome, First Alert Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm" followed by "No location programmed" if it is the first time or "[Location, example: "Kitchen"] location programmed" if the batteries have been changed.
2. Press and hold the Test Button on the smoke detector, or use your IR remote control's channel or volume button, if you would like to program or change the location of the alarm. Release the button after the alarm responds.
3. The voice will say "To save location, press and hold the test button after location is heard." The alarm will then speak a list of available locations such as "Basement," "Kitchen," "Living Room," etc.
4. After you hear the location of where you are placing the alarm, press and hold the Test Button or use your IR remote control's channel or volume button.
5. The voice will say "[Location, example: "Kitchen"] location saved." If no location is chosen, it will say "No location saved."
Your alarm has now been programmed for the location of your choice. Repeat these steps if you need to change the location in the future.
