The installation of the Dimplex RLG25 log set is relatively simple. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
1. Choose a suitable location: The log set does not require any special venting. Install it in an opening with the minimum dimensions of 24" (610 mm) wide, 22" (559 mm) high, and 14" (356 mm) deep. Ensure there is clearance for air circulation beneath the unit.
2. Prepare the area: If installing in an existing fireplace opening, seal all drafts and vents with a non-fibrous insulation material to prevent chimney debris from falling onto the unit. Do not install into an existing fireplace opening that is prone to dampness.
3. Place the log set: Carefully place the log set into position. Lift the log set by holding the sides of the heater box for stability. Do not lift by gripping the logs or the front grate legs. If installing on a carpeted area, place a one-piece, solid, flat surface under the unit to ensure stability.
4. Optional ember mat: If you have purchased the optional ember mat, place it in front and below the grate. Connect the wires from the ember mat to the connector on the right side of the grating box. Install the Mirage Flame Panel by inserting the bottom edge into the tabs between the back log and grate log assemblies. The painted side should be at the back and the smooth side to the front. Position the screen so that the cutout in the middle aligns with the center tab. Start on one end to insert the screen all the way across. When in place, the screen should be centered and slightly curved.
5. Plug into a wall outlet: Plug the log set directly into a properly grounded wall outlet. Ensure the outlet complies with local building codes and regulations.
That's it! Your Dimplex RLG25 log set should now be installed and ready to use. For more detailed instructions and safety precautions, please refer to the owner's manual.
