To install the VULCAN 36RB Salamander Broiler, follow these steps:
1. Verify that the type of gas supply (natural or propane) matches the specifications on the rating plate located underneath the broiler rack drip tray. If they do not match, do not proceed with the installation and contact your dealer.
2. Unpack the broiler and check for any shipping damage. If there is damage, save the packaging material and contact the carrier within 15 days of delivery.
3. Ensure that the installation location has the proper clearances as specified in the manual. The equipment area must be kept free and clear of combustible substances.
4. Install the gas connections according to the provided instructions. A gas shutoff valve should be installed in the gas line ahead of the broiler. The gas supply line must be ¾” or larger, and all connections must comply with local and national requirements. Check all joints in the gas supply line for leaks using a soap and water solution.
5. Install the gas pressure regulator as close to the broiler on the gas supply line as possible. Make sure the arrow on the underside of the regulator is oriented in the direction of gas flow to the broiler. The minimum supply pressure should be 7-9” W.C. for natural gas and 11-12” W.C. for propane gas.
6. Ensure that the flue connection is not obstructed and that the flue gases are properly ventilated to the outside of the building through a ventilation system installed by qualified personnel.
7. Assemble the broiler according to the provided instructions. If wall mounting, use the separate wall mounting bracket accessory. If mounting over a gas range, use the reinforced shelf and special mounting brackets.
8. Once the broiler is installed, it is ready for operation. Follow the lighting, relighting, and shutdown instructions provided in the manual.
Please note that these are general installation instructions. For specific details and diagrams, refer to the VULCAN 36RB Salamander Broilers Instruction Manual.
