To prepare the site for the installation of the Cedarshed B83 Bayside 8X3 Lean-To Shed, you should follow these steps:
1. Clear the construction area: Remove all debris, roots, grass, rocks, etc. from the area where you plan to install the shed.
2. Ensure proper drainage: Make sure the ground slopes away from the site at least 10 feet in all directions to prevent water accumulation. If necessary, build up the soil in the center of the site and slope it away from the high point to provide proper drainage.
3. Consider foundation options: The manual suggests two foundation options - a concrete patio stone foundation or a concrete slab foundation. Choose the option that best suits your needs and consult with your local Cedarshed supplier for specific requirements.
4. Foundation preparation: If using a concrete patio stone foundation, set the patio stones directly on firm compacted soil or on gravel or crushed rock if the ground is not stable. Level the patio stones by adding or removing soil beneath each stone and use a carpenter's level to ensure they are level from one stone to another. If using a concrete slab foundation, excavate the slab area to a depth of 6 inches, lay 4 inches of gravel as a subbase, add welded wire mesh for reinforcement (optional), and pour 4 inches of concrete, sloping it to allow for drainage away from the center high point.
5. Ensure a leveled foundation: It is important to have a leveled foundation before proceeding with the assembly of the shed. Use additional foundation pads as necessary to stabilize the floor system.
Please refer to the "Foundation Preparation" section of the instruction manual for more detailed instructions and diagrams.
Note: It is always recommended to consult with a professional or local authorities for specific requirements and regulations in your area.
