To clean the inside of your Whirlpool WFW5605MC washer, follow these steps:

1. Open the washer door and remove any clothing or items from the washer.
2. Use an affresh® Machine Cleaning Wipe or a soft, damp cloth or sponge to clean the inside door window.
3. Add an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet to the washer drum. Do not add the tablet to the dispenser drawer.
4. Close the washer door.
5. Select the Clean Washer with affresh® cycle on your washer's control panel.
6. If your washer has the option, select the FanFresh®/TumbleFresh™/Fresh Hold®/Fresh Spin™ option to help dry the washer interior after the cycle is complete.
7. Touch and hold the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle.
8. The Clean Washer with affresh® cycle will determine if there are any clothing or items in the washer. If any items are detected, the display will show "RL" (remove load) and the door will unlock. Open the washer and remove any garments from the washer drum. Touch Power to clear the "RL" code, then touch and hold Start/Pause to restart the cycle.
9. During the first 20 minutes of the cycle, the steam models will activate the steamer, but the drum will not spin or fill with water. You may see condensation on the door window during this initial phase. If you are using an affresh® Washer Cleaner tablet, it will not dissolve completely during the steam phase. This is normal.
10. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.

It is recommended to perform this cleaning procedure at least once per month or every 30 wash cycles to control the rate at which soils and detergent may accumulate in your washer.
