To set up the Samson CH288 Wireless Handheld Microphone system, follow these steps:
1. Physically place the CR288 receiver where it will be used and extend the antennas vertically.
2. Connect the included power adapter to the CR288 receiver and turn it on momentarily to confirm power.
3. Connect the CR288 receiver's mix output jack to the line level input of a mixer or amplifier, with the volume control all the way down.
4. Install two fresh AA batteries into the CB288 belt pack or CH288 handheld transmitter, leaving the battery compartment open.
5. Turn on the power to the transmitter by pressing and holding the power switch; the indicator LED will light green.
6. Press the CH A SELECT button on the CR288 receiver to choose an available channel for the CH A receiver.
7. Position the transmitter about 6-12 inches from the front of the CR288 receiver with the transmitter's IR window facing the IR transmitter on the receiver.
8. Press and hold the CR288 CH A SELECT button to set the transmitter to the same channel as the receiver via infrared transmission.
9. When the transmission is complete, the CR288 receiver will receive RF signal and the tone key from the transmitter. The CH A READY indicator will light on the receiver.
10. Repeat these steps for the CH B transmitter and receiver if using a dual system.
11. Turn on your connected amplifier or mixer, gradually raising the volume until the desired level is reached.
Note: If you experience dropouts, reduced range, or unexpected noise bursts, you may need to change the operating channel of the system. Refer to the "Concert 288 Channel Plans" in the user guide for available frequency channels.
