To connect your speakers to the Harman Kardon AVR-1710 receiver, follow these steps:
1. Identify the speaker terminals on the back of the receiver. There will be terminals labeled for each speaker channel, such as "Front Left," "Front Right," "Center," "Surround Left," and "Surround Right."
2. For each speaker, strip the ends of your speaker wire to expose the bare wire. Make sure to strip enough wire to securely connect to the speaker terminals.
3. For each speaker, insert the positive (+) wire into the corresponding positive (+) terminal on the receiver. The positive terminal is usually indicated by a red color or a "+" symbol. Tighten the terminal to secure the wire in place.
4. For each speaker, insert the negative (-) wire into the corresponding negative (-) terminal on the receiver. The negative terminal is usually indicated by a black color or a "-" symbol. Tighten the terminal to secure the wire in place.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each speaker, ensuring that the positive and negative wires are connected to the correct terminals on both the receiver and the speakers.
6. Once all the speakers are connected, double-check the connections to ensure they are secure and properly matched.
7. Power on the receiver and test the audio by playing a source material. Adjust the volume and balance settings as needed to achieve the desired sound.
Note: If you have a powered subwoofer, it can be connected to the subwoofer pre-out connector on the back of the receiver using a single RCA audio cable.
