No, the Astromania flip mirror is not suitable for use with Newtonian telescopes. Newtonian telescopes have a specific design where the primary mirror is located at the bottom of the telescope tube, and the focal point is located outside of the telescope tube. Flip mirrors are designed to redirect light at a 90-degree angle, which would prevent the light from reaching the focal point in a Newtonian telescope. However, the flip mirror can be used with refractors or catadioptric systems such as Schmidt-Cassegrains (SCs), Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) telescopes, and Maksutov-Cassegrains without any issues.
