Sure! Here's a step-by-step guide on how to install the HAUPPAUGE PCG-35 WinTV-Dual HD Dual USB - Black:
1. Locate a free USB 2.0 port on your laptop or desktop computer.
2. Plug the WinTV-Dual HD into the USB 2.0 port. You can use the USB extension cable included in the package to position the device away from the USB slot if needed. Note: It is not recommended to connect via a USB Hub.
3. Connect an antenna for ATSC digital TV reception or a cable TV connection for clearQAM digital TV reception to the TV connector on the WinTV-Dual HD.
4. If you are using ATSC HD TV, it is recommended to use a rooftop antenna during the first-time installation for better signal quality.
5. The WinTV-Dual HD has Signal Strength Indicator LEDs. These LEDs will be green when you are tuned to a strong digital TV signal, yellow when tuned to a moderate TV signal, and off when there is no or weak TV signal.
6. Insert the WinTV Installation CD-ROM included in the package into your computer's CD/DVD drive.
7. For Windows 10, 8, or 7: An AutoPlay message will appear. Click "Run Setup.exe" to start the installation.
8. For Windows XP installations: After installing the WinTV device and booting Windows, a "Found New Hardware" wizard will appear. Cancel it and allow Windows to load fully before proceeding. You might see this message two or three times. Click "Cancel" each time you see the New Hardware Wizard.
9. The "Hauppauge WinTV Installation CD-ROM" window will appear on the screen.
10. Click the button labeled "Step 2: Install WinTV" and then click "Next". The setup application will open and automatically install the WinTV application components.
11. The main application installed is the WinTV v8 application for TV watching and recording. Once the installation is complete, click "OK" and then "Exit".
12. To run the WinTV v8 application, double-click on the WinTV icon on your Windows desktop.
