To connect the Music Hall USB-1 Turntable to your computer for recording vinyl, follow these steps:
1. Connect one end of the USB cable (included in the package) to the USB socket on the turntable.
2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port on your computer.
3. Install the Audacity recording software (included in the package or available for download from the Audacity website).
4. Open the Audacity program on your computer.
5. In Audacity, select "Preferences" from the "Edit" tab in the menu.
6. In the "Audio I/O" tab, under "Recording Device," select "USB Audio CODEC."
7. Under "Recording Channels," select "2" for stereo recording.
8. Check the box marked "Play other tracks while recording new one" and "Software Playthrough."
9. Set up your vinyl record on the turntable and start playing the desired track or album.
10. In Audacity, click on the red "Record" button to begin recording.
11. Lower the tonearm onto the vinyl record to start capturing the audio.
12. Click on the blue "Pause" button to pause the recording if needed, and click it again to resume.
13. Click on the yellow "Stop" button to stop the recording when you're finished.
14. Save your recording project in Audacity by selecting "Save Project As" from the "File" tab.
15. You can then export the recorded audio as a digital file (e.g., WAV or MP3) using the export function in Audacity.
Please note that the Audacity software allows you to edit and enhance your recordings before exporting them. Refer to the Audacity manual or online resources for more information on using the software.
It's important to ensure that you have installed the Audacity software and set up the recording preferences correctly before starting the recording process.
