To connect your Klipsch R-115sw Wireless Subwoofer to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Position the subwoofer: Place the subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers for optimum performance.
2. Make the necessary connections:
- If your surround receiver or preamplifier has a line level subwoofer output, connect one end of a subwoofer cable to it and the other end to the subwoofer's line input labeled LEFT/LFE.
- If your receiver does not have a subwoofer output, you can connect the Left and Right channel Pre-Amp Outputs from your receiver to the Left/LFE and Right inputs on the subwoofer.
3. Optional wireless connectivity: If you want to use wireless connectivity for your subwoofer, you can use the optional WA-2 wireless kit. This kit allows you to wirelessly transmit a signal to the subwoofer within a 50-foot radius.
4. Adjust the settings:
- Level: Set the subwoofer volume level control in your receiver to the "half way" or "0 dB" position. Then, increase the volume or gain of the subwoofer until its volume level matches that of your main speakers.
- Lowpass Control: Set the crossover point on the subwoofer based on the size of your main left/right speakers. For larger floorstanding speakers, set the crossover point between 50Hz-90Hz. For smaller bookshelf or satellite speakers, set the crossover point between 90Hz-150Hz.
- Phase: Select the position (0° or 180°) that provides more output from the subwoofer at your listening position.
- Power: Set the switch to the "ON/AUTO/STANDBY" position for automatic power on/off based on the presence of a signal. Set it to the "OFF" position for manual control.
