To set up the Beautyrest BR54-0823 electric blanket, follow these steps:

1. Ensure that you are using the control unit provided with the blanket or one provided by the manufacturer.
2. Before plugging the controller's main power cord into the wall outlet, make sure you have completed the setup of the blanket.
3. Plug the 4-prong plug from the controller into the module at the bottom of the blanket until the plastic lock clicks into place. Do not force the plug, as it is designed to fit in only one direction. If it doesn't fit, reverse the plug.
4. To disconnect the controller from the blanket, press the button on the connector module and pull straight out.
5. Plug the main power cord of the controller into a 110-120 volt 60 Hz wall outlet.
6. Press the "On" switch to turn on the power of the controller. The low heat setting indicator will illuminate to indicate the current heat setting.
