To connect the battery to the APC BE600M1 Surge Protector, follow these steps:
1. Remove the "Stop! Connect the Battery" label that covers the outlets.
2. Connect the battery cable securely to the battery terminal. It is normal for small sparks to be seen when the battery cable is connected to the battery terminal.
3. Reinstall the battery compartment cover, making sure that the release tabs lock into place.
