Here are the step-by-step instructions for installing the CyberPower EC850LCD Surge Protector UPS System:
1. Unpack the UPS and inspect the contents of the box. It should include the UPS unit, user's manual, and a USB A+B type cable.
2. Determine the power requirements of your equipment. Make sure that the total power consumption of the equipment you plan to connect to the UPS does not exceed the UPS unit's rated capacity. The rated capacity for the EC850LCD is 850VA/510W.
3. Connect your computer, monitor, and any other peripherals requiring battery backup to the battery power-supplied outlets on the UPS. These outlets are labeled as "Battery and Surge Protected Outlets." Do not plug large electrical devices such as laser printers, paper shredders, or space heaters into these outlets.
4. Plug other peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and speakers into the full-time surge protection outlets on the UPS. These outlets are labeled as "Full-Time Surge Protection Outlets" or "ECO Controlled Outlets."
5. Plug the UPS into a 2-pole, 3-wire grounded receptacle (wall outlet). Make sure the wall outlet is protected by a fuse or circuit breaker and does not service equipment with large electrical demands such as air conditioners or refrigerators.
6. Press the power switch on the UPS to turn it on. The Power On indicator light will illuminate green, and you will hear two beeps.
7. If an overload is detected, an audible alarm will sound, and the unit will emit one long beep. To correct this, turn the UPS off, unplug at least one piece of equipment from the battery power-supplied outlets, make sure the circuit breaker is depressed, and then turn the UPS on again.
8. Leave the UPS plugged into an AC outlet at all times to maintain optimal battery charge.
