1. Unpack the UPS and inspect the contents of the box. It should include the UPS unit, user's manual, and a USB A+B type cable.

2. Determine the power requirements of your equipment. Make sure that the total power consumption of the equipment you plan to connect to the UPS does not exceed the UPS unit's rated capacity. The rated capacity for the EC850LCD is 850VA/510W.

3. Connect your computer, monitor, and any other peripherals requiring battery backup to the battery power-supplied outlets on the UPS.
