To wash the SoftHeat 27210301-T-SL Twin Micro-Fleece Heated Blanket, follow the care instructions provided in the user manual. The blanket can be machine washed or hand washed.
For machine washing, disconnect all cords and never submerge them, the power supply, or control unit. Place the textile portion of the blanket in the washing machine with warm water and a small amount of detergent. Let it soak for 5 minutes, then agitate on the delicate or gentle cycle for two minutes. Spin on normal speed and rinse with cool water. Never put the blanket through a wringer.
For hand washing, disconnect all cords and wash the textile separately in a tub of lukewarm (100°F) water with a small amount of mild laundry soap or detergent. Soak the blanket for 5 minutes, then gently work it up and down for five more minutes. Rinse thoroughly in cool water until all traces of soap or detergent are gone. Squeeze out excess water by hand, but never twist the blanket.
When drying the blanket, do not use commercial dryers at the laundromat as they may be too hot and could damage the wiring. Do not plug in the blanket while damp and do not iron it. To machine dry, put the blanket into a dryer on low heat and allow it to tumble until dry. Ensure that the blanket has enough room to tumble freely. Alternatively, you can line dry the blanket by draping it over two parallel clotheslines or a shower rod with the head and foot ends down. Do not reconnect the blanket until it is completely dry.
Remember to store the blanket folded in a dry place when not in use.
