To switch between 2D and 3D mode on the Sony BDP-S5500 Blu-ray player, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your TV is compatible with 3D playback and that you have connected the Blu-ray player to the TV using an HDMI cable.
2. Turn on the Blu-ray player and the TV.
3. Press the HOME button on the remote control to access the home menu.
4. Use the arrow keys on the remote control to navigate to the "Setup" option and press the Enter button.
5. In the Setup menu, select "Video" and press Enter.
6. Scroll down and select "3D Settings" and press Enter.
7. In the 3D Settings menu, you will find the option to enable or disable 3D playback. Select "3D Display" and press Enter.
8. Choose "Auto" to automatically switch to 3D mode when a 3D disc is played, or select "Off" to disable 3D playback and use regular 2D mode.
9. Press the Return button on the remote control to go back to the previous menu.
10. Exit the Setup menu by pressing the HOME button.
