To clean the Hamilton Beach 26201 Belgian Waffle Maker, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Press the Grid Release Button away from the Grids and pull the Grids out to remove them.
3. Wipe the outside of the unit with a damp, soapy cloth. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive cleansers on any part of the unit.
4. Clean the Drip Tray by rinsing off any excess overflowed batter with hot water. Use a soapy cloth to clean the Drip Tray and rinse again with hot water.
5. Wash the Grids and Drip Tray in hot, soapy water or place them in the dishwasher. Note that if you use a dishwasher, do not use the "SANI" setting as it could damage the product.
6. To reinstall the Grids, pull the Release Latch toward the Handle to unlock. Lift the Cover, align the Tabs on the Grid with the inserts in the Cover, and press the Grid to latch it. Slide the Grid Release Button, if necessary. Repeat with the remaining Grids.
7. Always allow the appliance to cool down completely and lock the Cover by pushing the Release Latch toward the Grids before storing.
The grids of the Hamilton Beach 26201 Belgian Waffle Maker are dishwasher-safe. However, it is recommended to wash them in hot, soapy water or the dishwasher without using the "SANI" cycle. Avoid using steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive cleansers on any part of the unit as they may damage the nonstick coating.
