To clean the Hamilton Beach 41026R Temperature Electric Kettle, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool.
2. Empty any remaining water from the kettle.
3. Remove the mesh filter by pulling up on the filter tab visible through the kettle opening.
4. Rinse the filter under running water to remove any debris.
5. If there is discoloration or scale/lime deposit on the heating element, you can remove it by following these steps:
a. Place 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) of cream of tartar into the kettle.
b. Fill the kettle halfway with water.
c. Plug the kettle into an outlet and press the START/STOP (I/ ) button to bring the water to a boil.
d. Press the STOP ( ) button to stop the boiling process.
e. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool.
f. Rinse the kettle several times with clean tap water.
6. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or powders as they may scratch the surface.
Note: Do not immerse the kettle, power base, or plug in water or any other liquid.
