To clean the Hamilton Beach K6080 Electric Tea Kettle, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the kettle and allow it to cool down.
2. Empty any remaining water from the kettle.
3. Use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the kettle. Avoid using abrasive scouring pads or powders as they may scratch the surface.
4. Do not immerse the kettle or plug in water or any other liquid.
5. To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit from the heating element, follow these steps:
a. Place 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar (available in the spice aisle of a grocery store) into the kettle.
b. Fill the kettle halfway with water.
c. Plug in the kettle, turn it on (I), and bring the water to a boil.
d. Turn off the kettle (O), let it cool, and rinse it several times with clean tap water.
6. After cleaning, make sure the kettle is completely dry before using it again.
Note: The Hamilton Beach K6080 Electric Tea Kettle is not dishwasher-safe. Do not immerse the kettle or its plug in water or any other liquid.
