Cleaning the Elite Gourmet EKT-1271 electric kettle is important to keep it in good condition. Here are the steps to clean the kettle:
1. Disconnect the kettle from the power outlet before cleaning.
2. Do not immerse the base area or cord in water, or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
3. To remove mineral deposits and limescale, you can use a liquid descaler or follow this alternative method:
a. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar and the remainder with water.
b. Allow the solution to stand overnight without boiling.
c. Empty the solution from the kettle. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.
d. Fill the kettle with clean water, bring it to a boil, and then discard the water.
e. Repeat the process if necessary until the kettle is clean.
4. The outside of the kettle can be wiped over with a damp cloth.
5. Clean the filter at regular intervals by detaching it from the kettle and wiping it with a damp cloth. Insert the filter back into the support dent.
6. Avoid using chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners on the outside of the kettle, as they may damage the surface.
