To connect the Pioneer Elite BDP-85FD Blu-Ray Player to your TV, follow these steps:
1. Check the available video and audio connections on both the Blu-Ray player and your TV. The BDP-85FD supports various connection options, including HDMI, component video, and composite video.
2. If your TV has an HDMI input, it is recommended to use an HDMI cable for the best video and audio quality. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI output port on the Blu-Ray player and the other end to the HDMI input port on your TV.
3. If your TV does not have an HDMI input, you can use the component video or composite video connections. For component video, connect the red, green, and blue video cables from the Blu-Ray player's component video output to the corresponding component video input on your TV. Additionally, connect the red and white audio cables from the Blu-Ray player's audio output to the corresponding audio input on your TV. For composite video, connect the yellow video cable from the Blu-Ray player's composite video output to the yellow video input on your TV. Again, connect the red and white audio cables for audio.
4. Once the connections are made, power on both the Blu-Ray player and your TV.
5. Use your TV's remote control to select the appropriate input source. If you connected the Blu-Ray player via HDMI, select the HDMI input that you connected to. If you used component video or composite video, select the corresponding input source on your TV.
6. The Blu-Ray player should now be connected to your TV, and you should see the player's menu or home screen on your TV. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the player and start enjoying your Blu-Ray discs.
