To connect the Klipsch R-28F Floorstanding Speakers to your amplifier, follow these steps:
1. Use a 16-12 gauge speaker wire to make the connections. Ensure that the wire is long enough to reach from your amplifier to the speakers.
2. Identify the terminals on the speakers and the amplifier. The terminals are typically color-coded, with red indicating the positive (+) terminal and black indicating the negative (-) terminal.
3. Connect the red positive terminal of the left speaker to the red positive terminal of your amplifier's left channel. Use the speaker wire to make a secure connection.
4. Connect the black negative terminal of the left speaker to the black negative terminal of your amplifier's left channel. Again, use the speaker wire to make a secure connection.
5. Repeat the above steps for connecting the remaining speakers to the appropriate amplifier channels.
6. Ensure that no bare wires from any of the connections touch any other terminals, as this could cause a short and damage your equipment.
7. If your Klipsch Reference speakers come with dual binding posts connected by a metal strip, do not remove this strip. Keep it in place and connect your speaker wire to the top set of the binding posts.
8. It is also possible to "bi-wire" a speaker that has two sets of binding posts. Please refer to your receiver's manual for further instructions on bi-wiring.
Note: Klipsch speakers are highly efficient and can be driven to high levels with low distortion. However, exercise caution with the volume control to prevent damage to your hearing. Also, check with your dealer or amplifier manual to ensure that your particular amplifier is best suited for your application.
