To connect the Klipsch R-14S Surround Pair speakers to your TV or receiver, you will need to use a conventional speaker wire. Here are the steps:
1. Using a 16-12 gauge speaker wire, connect the RED "positive" (+) terminal of the LEFT speaker to the RED "positive" (+) terminal of your amplifier's LEFT channel.
2. Connect the BLACK "negative" (-) terminal of the LEFT speaker to the BLACK "negative" (-) terminal of your amplifier's LEFT channel.
3. Repeat the above steps for connecting all the remaining speakers to the appropriate amplifier channels.
4. Make sure that no bare wires from any of the connections touch any other terminals to avoid causing a short and damaging your equipment.
5. Some Klipsch Reference speakers come with dual binding posts that are connected by a metal strip. Do not remove this strip as it is necessary for the speakers to function correctly. Keep the strip in place and connect your speaker wire to the top set of the binding posts.
6. If your speaker has two sets of binding posts, it is possible to "Bi-wire" the speaker. Please refer to your receiver's manual for further instructions.
Note: Klipsch speakers are highly efficient and can be driven by a wide variety of amplifiers. However, it is important to exercise caution with the volume control to avoid damaging your hearing or the speakers. Check with your dealer or amplifier manual to ensure that your particular amplifier is best suited for your application.
