Cleaning the Ovente KP413B electric kettle is easy and requires a few simple steps. Here's how you can clean it:
1. Everyday cleaning: Use a damp towel to wipe away any water splatters or residue from the kettle's exterior. Then, dry and shine with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive scouring pads.
2. Descaling: Over time, limescale may build up inside your kettle, affecting its performance. To descale the kettle, you will need water and vinegar or lemon juice.
a. Mix a solution that is 3/4 parts water to 1/4 part vinegar or lemon juice.
b. Pour the solution into the kettle and close the lid.
c. Bring the solution to a boil and leave it for 5-8 hours.
d. Discard the solution.
e. If limescale persists, repeat the process from step 1 until it dissipates.
Caution: The solution may be extremely hot during this process, so handle with care.
3. Regular maintenance: Empty the kettle after each use to prevent mineral build-up. Leaving water inside the kettle can contribute to limescale formation. Refer to the descaling instructions mentioned above for periodic descaling.
